Course overview
The combined Master's degree in International Relations and Project Management enables students interested in a career in diplomacy, international trade, government, or business to acquire expertise in the planning, implementation and management of projects and programs.
The addition of project and program management skills enables you to access more strategic positions in your organisation and to oversee new initiatives involving the management of scope, time, cost and risk.
Upon completion, you will graduate with a Master of International Relations and a Master of Project Management. The Project Management Institute (PMI) internationally recognises the combined program.

What you will study
To complete the Master of International Relations/Master of Project Management, you must complete 180 credit points:
- Research Methods and Data Visualisation (10 credit points)
- Expert Witness and Dispute Resolution (10 credit points)
- Risk Management (10 credit points)
- Principles of Project Management (10 credit points)
- Project Finance and Procurement (10 credit points)
- Project Portfolio and Program Management (10 credit points)
- Project Resource Planning (10 credit points)
Research option
Students must complete the following 40 credit points of subjects.
- Major Research Project (Part A) (20 credit points)
- Major Research Project (Part B) (20 credit points)
Entry requirements
To be considered for admission to this degree, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Successful completion of a recognised bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) in global studies, social sciences, society and culture or business and management.
Note: This combined program is not available to Bond's Bachelor of Project Management graduates. Students may consider the Master of International Relations as a single degree alternative.
Alternative entry options
There are alternative pathways if you don't currently hold the required academic qualifications. You can use prior work experience to apply for entry into this program if you like. To do so, you'll need to provide documentation of your employment history, including a statement from your employer about your position, time in the role and a brief overview of the role you performed.
Recognition of Prior Learning
If you have completed previous tertiary studies, you may be able to gain credit for previous subjects. To apply, you will need to submit your academic transcripts to the Office of Future Students, including detailed subject outlines or course descriptions for each relevant subject.
