Course overview
Executive Ethics is a primer for senior and emerging leaders across the public, private and non-profit sectors who are seeking to incorporate or renew ethical thinking and action within their leadership practice. The program connects values-based leadership and ethical thinking with participants’ work, organisations and wider ecosystems.
Under the Cranlana model of peer-based learning and shared enquiry, participants reflect on and challenge one another and themselves in a trusted, generative learning space. Themes include ethical dilemmas, integrity tests, decision-making frameworks, mapping responsibilities, blind spots and fading, giving voice to values, trade-offs and ‘dirty hands’ and ethics as practice. Facilitators use thinking and action frameworks, along with scripting and rehearsal devices, to support considered, values-led responses to challenging ethical situations.
Learning activities include guided readings, digital materials and case studies. Participants strengthen their capacity to critically identify and respond to ethical dilemmas, recognise and address ethical blind spots and fading and develop tools to role-model and influence organisational ethical culture. The program also connects participants with a future circle of ethical leaders and champions.
