This course is specifically designed in consultation with industry to prepare graduates that are proficient in the knowledge and application of digital marketing.

Course Overview

Confidence and competence in the application of digital and social media knowledge and associated skills are crucial for all marketing professionals, as well as for those who own or manage a small to medium business enterprise.

Students will critique topical, current and relevant issues to modern-day marketing practice and will learn how to think strategically when it comes to social and digital media. Students will also use industry-standard software and technology to apply these skills.

Some of the tools students will work with include Synthesio and Hootsuite for publishing, engaging and analysing social media content and trends; WIX to create, publish and manage website content; Google Analytics to analyse website performance; and Gaze Recorder to analyse the effectiveness of digital content on a website.

All students will have the opportunity to develop a digital marketing plan for a real organisation. They will also learn how digital analytics, Search Engine Optimisation and artificial intelligence, amongst other digital technologies, can be applied to develop new products or services and strategic marketing plans to assist in organisational success.

Entry requirements

Academic requirements

To gain entry to the Graduate Certificate of Applied Digital Marketing, you will need to have one of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years of relevant professional experience.

English language requirements

English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • IELTS academic overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0).
  • Bachelor's degree from a country specified on the university's English Proficiency Bands page.
  • Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent).
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning including at least five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Other tests, courses or programs defined on the university's English Proficiency Bands page.
