Entry requirements
Admissions criteria
In order to be considered for entry, applicants must have completed one of the following:
- A bachelors degree or equivalent in a similar discipline.
- A three-year undergraduate qualification and at least 50 credit points, or equivalent, of graduate study in any discipline.
- A bachelors honours degree in any discipline.
- A bachelors degree in a different discipline and at least two years of documented, relevant work experience.
- A minimum of six years documented, relevant work experience.
English Language Criteria
All applicants to the University of Melbourne must satisfy the English language requirements. This may be achieved in a number of ways, including recognised previous study taught and assessed entirely in English or an approved English language test. If you are from a non-English speaking background, the required standard of English for this degree is one of the following English proficiency test scores:

Recognition of Prior Learning
Prior studies may be credited towards your degree and potentially reduce the duration of your course. This is known as Advanced Standing (also known as credit or recognition of prior learning).
Suppose you have an undergraduate degree in business/commerce or a related discipline, or an undergraduate degree in any discipline with appropriate business breadth study or a business minor. In that case, you may be awarded up to 50 points of Advanced Standing.
There is a pre-approved Advanced Standing arrangement for students who complete the Graduate Certificate of Business prior to commencing this Master's. To receive maximum Advanced Standing (credit) to enter the 150-point program, you must undertake the following subjects within the Graduate Certificate of Business:
- Business Analytics for Decision-Making
- Value Creation Strategies
You must also choose the remainder of your subjects from this list:
- Accounting Analysis and Decisions
- Economics of Markets and Organisation
- Managerial Finance

Unless otherwise noted, the indicative total course fee shown above assumes a study load of 1 EFTSL (equivalent full-time student load) commencing semester one of the listed year, except for courses with a duration of less than 1 EFTSL.
Fees are subject to annual review by the University, with any new rates effective from the beginning of each calendar year.
