What you will study
The Master of Business is designed in three blocks of study (192 credit points):
- Foundation studies (48 credit points)
- Discipline studies (96 credit points)
- Complementary studies (48 credit points)
Unless otherwise indicated, each unit is worth 12 credit points.

Entry requirements
Two-year program
You must have a recognised bachelor's degree (or higher) in any discipline with a minimum grade point average of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7-point scale).
1.5-year program
You must have one of the following:
- A recognised bachelor's degree (or higher) in business or a related discipline with a minimum grade point average of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7-point scale).
- A recognised bachelor's degree (or higher) in any discipline with a minimum grade point average of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7-point scale), followed by at least seven years (or equivalent) of work experience in business or a related discipline.
One-year program
You must have one of the following:
- A recognised bachelor's honours degree in management with a minimum grade point average of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7-point scale).
- A recognised bachelor's degree plus a graduate certificate both in management with a minimum grade point average of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7-point scale).
- A recognised graduate diploma (or higher) in management with a minimum grade point average of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7-point scale).
- A recognised bachelor's degree in management with a minimum grade point average of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7-point scale), followed by at least seven years of full-time (or equivalent) work experience in management.
Recognition of Prior Learning
If you have completed the Graduate Certificate in Business (Management) within the last seven years, you will receive credit for 48 credit points.
Advanced standing may also be available to students who have, within the last five years:
- Studied a related postgraduate program at another institution.
- Gained professional work experience in a related field.

Estimated first-year tuition fee in 2026: $36,600 (domestic full-fee paying place).
All costs are calculated using current rates and are based on a study load of 96 credit points (normally eight units) per year.
A student’s annual fee may vary in accordance with:
- The number of units studied per term.
- The choice of major or specialisation.
- Choice of units.
- Credit from previous study or work experience.
- Eligibility for government-funded loans.
