The Graduate Diploma of Project Management Online equips professionals with the expertise to manage projects across a range of industries. Learn how change management, entrepreneurship, risk management, ethics and leadership are important elements of becoming an effective project manager. Graduates can go on to study a Master of Project Management.

Students enrolled in this course are eligible for student membership to the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM). Upon completion, students may upgrade to associate or full member status and are entitled to automatic recognition for AIPM’s Registered Project Manager (RegPM) Certification as a Certified Practising Project Practitioner (CPPP).

Entry requirements

To gain entry into this course, applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • A recognised bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
  • A recognised bachelor's degree in any discipline, plus a minimum of two years of equivalent full-time relevant professional experience.
  • A Graduate Certificate of Project Management.

English language requirements

All Swinburne students must be able to meet the English language requirements. You’ll be able to provide evidence of your English language skills if you have one of the following:

  • Completed the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or another type of secondary qualification taught in English.
  • Completed some types of university or vocational education studies (tertiary studies).
  • Completed English language tests, such as TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson or C1.
  • Completed an English language (ELICOS) course.
  • Lived and worked in an English-speaking country for at least four years (domestic applicants only).

These requirements vary for prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students, depending on your chosen course.

Recognition of Prior Learning

If you have gained extensive and relevant knowledge through formal training or acquired relevant skills through work or through life experience, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning (RPL).

Upon successfully completing the Graduate Diploma of Project Management Online, graduates will be able to:

  • Critically evaluate project management theories, methodologies and frameworks in a range of business management and entrepreneurial and industry contexts.

If part-time study is permitted, annual fees will be proportionally lower based on the number of units taken per semester.
