What you will study

To earn the Master of Business (Strategic Procurement), students must complete 48 units of credit or eight courses. Each course is worth six units of credit.

Core courses

Students must take the following three courses for 18 units of credit:

  • Strategic Management
  • Business Law
  • Strategic Procurement and Outsourcing

Prescribed electives

Students must complete five courses for 30 units of credit from the list below:

  • Strategic Human Resources
  • Accounting for Management Decisions
  • Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • The Business of Managing Projects
  • Leadership
  • Change Management
  • Business Ethics
  • Critical Analysis in Business
  • Asset Management

Note: Students who do not have any tertiary education prior to program entry must complete Critical Analysis in Business (six untis of credit) before doing any core or elective courses.

Entry requirements

To gain entry into the Master of Business, an applicant must meet one of the following entry requirements:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree with honours in the same or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • Completion of a graduate diploma or graduate certificate in the same or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in the same or a related discipline from a recognised institution and completion of at least three years of relevant full-time professional experience.
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in a non-related discipline and completion of at least four years of relevant full-time professional experience.
  • Evidence of other qualifications and professional experience to be assessed as acceptable grounds for admission into the program by the relevant Program Authority. In certain circumstances, students may be required to undertake and successfully complete a relevant non-award course as a condition for admission into the program. This non-award course may also be credited towards the program upon admission.

Recognition of Prior Learning

If you have completed a study prior to enrolling at UNSW, you may be eligible for a credit transfer. If approved, you can earn credit towards your current degree and shorten the length of your studies.

Credit transfer is also known as 'advanced standing' or recognition for prior learning (RPL).

Students are charged tuition fees at the rate corresponding to the year of the census date applicable to their enrolment in a course.

A student’s fee may vary depending on:

  • The number of courses studied per term.
  • The choice of major or specialisation.
  • Choice of courses.
  • Credit from previous study or work experience.
  • Eligibility for government-funded loans.

You may also need to pay the student services and amenities fee.
