Course overview
The Master of Capability Management is designed for students who wish to gain a more detailed understanding of the managerial and technical skills and expertise relevant to planning and acquisition of complex technology and systems.
You will explore the technical and management factors that influence the design, performance, employability, logistic supportability and technical integrity of materiel systems to achieve capability requirements.

What you will study
To earn the Master of Capability Management, students must complete three core courses and five electives and fulfil 48 units of credit (UOC). Each course is valued at six UOC.
- Core courses - 18 to 24 UOC
- Elective courses - 24 to 30 UOC
Students must take at least 18 UOC, up to a maximum of 24 UOC of the following courses.
Complete the following:
- Requirements Practice
Complete two or all of the following:
- Logistics Management OR Sustaining Capability
- The Business of Managing Projects OR Delivering Capability
- Capability Development OR Systems Engineering Practice
Entry requirements
Academic requirements
To gain entry into the Master of Capability Management, an applicant must meet one of the following entry requirements:
- Completion of a bachelor's degree with honours in the same or a related discipline* from a recognised institution.
- Completion of a graduate diploma or graduate certificate in the same or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in the same or a related discipline from a recognised institution; and completion of at least three years of relevant full-time professional experience.
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in a non-related discipline; and completion of at least four years of relevant full-time professional experience.
- Evidence of other qualifications and professional experience to be assessed as acceptable grounds for admission into the program by the relevant program authority. In certain circumstances, students may be required to undertake and successfully complete a relevant non-award course as a condition for admission into the program. This non-award course may also be credited towards the program upon admission.
