How will you learn
This is a two-day face-to-face course at the UNSW Sydney CBD Campus. It is designed to be highly interactive, involving extensive group discussion, activities and a simulation.
The first day of the course covers what it means to be a leader of projects and establish project governance around the project within the organisation, focusing on governance and steering committee principles.
On the second day of the course, participants will work together in a team-based simulation where critical judgements need to be made, to keep the project alive, in several key areas including:
- Clarifying and keeping focus on commercial outcomes
- Scope definition and changes
- Contract and procurement strategy
- Resourcing
- Scheduling
- Risk
- Stakeholder management
Due to its containment within a single day and its absence of risks to livelihoods, financial stability, or employment status, this simulation presents an ideal environment for learning. Despite its intensity, the enduring impressions will primarily be those of the lessons learned rather than any negative consequences. Lessons you can embed into your project governance structures in your organisations.
