Course overview
The Master of Engineering Management is a professional degree for engineers who see their careers progressing into management—including senior management positions. The degree provides a strong grounding in modern management thinking, applicable to engineering industries.
The degree is offered in conjunction with Sydney Business School, UOW, to ensure the most modern management thinking accompanies the professional, technical and environmental aspects of engineering projects.
You will complete the following five core subjects: engineering logistics, engineering, project management, modelling of engineering management systems, strategic management for engineers and technologists, and financial management for engineered assets.

What you will study
The Master of Engineering Management requires the successful completion of 48 credit points consisting of:
- 18 credit points of core Engineering subjects, plus
Either:
- 30 credit points of subjects listed in the No Specialisation Option below.
- 30 credit points from the Asset Management Specialisation.
Note: MGNT subjects are only available in Trimester mode and have key dates that differ from Semester mode. Unless otherwise indicated, each subject is valued at six credit points.
Complete the following three common core subjects:
- Modelling of Engineering Management Systems
- Strategic Management for Engineers and Technologists
- Financial Management for Engineered Assets
Entry Requirements
A four-year Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree from a recognised tertiary institution.
English Language Requirements
All UOW courses are taught in English and require varying levels of proficiency. If English is not your first language, you must meet the University’s English Language Requirements, which differ by course.
