Course overview

The Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness targets recent graduates in business, agriculture or rural science, as well as established professionals seeking to enhance management skills or pivot careers into agribusiness. The one-year curriculum delivers advanced, specialised knowledge in agribusiness management, complemented by essential business and communication skills. Academics and industry experts provide actionable insights into contemporary challenges, including sustainability, globalisation, food security and international trade. Participants examine how agribusinesses in diverse contexts address global opportunities and challenges, while exploring all facets of the supply chain to collaborate effectively with small- and large-scale producers, processors, transporters, financial institutions and Australian and international retailers in delivering high-quality, affordable products.

Graduates emerge with a market-oriented focus, commercial awareness, innovative thinking, a global perspective and the technical expertise required for roles in the food and fibre industries, often securing swift employment in managerial, administrative or research positions. The Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness also serves as a pathway to the master's program.

  • The number of courses studied per term.
  • The choice of major or specialisation.
  • Choice of courses.
  • Credit from previous study or work experience.
  • Eligibility for government-funded loans.

Commonwealth Supported Places

The Australian Government allocates a certain number of CSPs to the universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.

If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you'll only need to pay a portion of your tuition fees. This is known as the student contribution amount – the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.

Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate courses.

Your student contribution amount is:

  • Calculated per the course you're enrolled in.
  • Dependent on the study areas they relate to.
  • Reviewed and adjusted each year.

HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.
