University of Southern Queensland
Graduate Certificate of Professional Engineering (Engineering Management and Enterprise)
- Delivery: Face to Face
- Study Level: Postgraduate
- Duration: 6 months
- Course Type: Graduate Certificate
Elevate your engineering career by gaining management skills tailored to the engineering profession.
Course overview
- Build on an existing engineering degree and gain an advanced level of knowledge and technical competence in an engineering field that interests the student. No work experience is required to commence postgraduate studies.
- Already a professional engineer? This degree can be used to extend accredited areas of practice or fulfil Engineers Australia professional development requirements while the student receives a postgraduate qualification.
- This short four‑unit qualification allows the student to upskill quickly for promotions or career shifts and can be studied part‑time and mostly online while continuing to work.
- Advancing skills can lead to senior technical or consulting roles or diversify a traditional engineering career into cross‑disciplinary or emerging fields such as sustainability, data or business.
- Select courses to increase practical knowledge of corporate finance, project management, new product development and innovation management, and how to build employee engagement and job satisfaction in engineering environments.
- Explore the concept and characteristics of a spatial digital twin used in the fields of smart cities, construction, infrastructure and transport, and how it can lead to improved efficiency, cost savings and overall sustainability for industry, government and the community.
In the Engineering Management and Enterprise specialisation, students will gain engineering‑focused management and asset skills, explore digital twins for smart infrastructure and boost practical knowledge in finance, innovation and employee engagement.

Fees and CSP
Indicative annual fee in 2026: $4,768 (Commonwealth Supported Place)
All costs are calculated using current rates and are based on a study load of four units (normally four courses) per semester or year.
Student annual fees may vary in accordance with:
- The number of courses studied per term.
- The choice of major or specialisation.
- Choice of courses.
- Credit from previous study or work experience.
- Eligibility for government-funded loans.
You may also need to pay the student services and amenities fee.
Student fees shown are subject to change. Contact the university directly to confirm.
Commonwealth Supported Places
The Australian Government allocates a certain number of CSPs to the universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.
If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you'll only need to pay a portion of your tuition fees. This is known as the student contribution amount – the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.
Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate programs.
Your student contribution amount is:
- Calculated per the course you're enrolled in.
- Dependent on the study areas they relate to.
- Reviewed and adjusted each year.
HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.
