The UTS Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) is designed to help you become a strategic, innovative and future-focused executive leader. This program has been created exclusively for experienced professionals, start-up founders and Indigenous leaders. With dynamic and flexible delivery, you can tailor the duration and content of your degree, giving you the power to shape your own future.

With a unique and effective blend of classroom experience, work-integrated learning and industry collaboration, the EMBA program will give you the knowledge and skills you need to succeed as a contemporary executive leader, founder or entrepreneur.

The UTS EMBA will see you build vital executive leadership capabilities through eight core units, including the Strategic Design Studio, where you'll work with real clients to investigate and solve a real business challenge. You'll tailor your learning with your choice of EMBA Stream, strengthening your knowledge of corporate transformation, entrepreneurship, Indigenous nation building or service design.

What you will study

Students must complete a total of 72 credit points, including:

  • Eight core disciplinary-based subjects with an experiential studio (36 credit points)
  • One study pathway or specialisation (24 credit points)
  • Four electives (12 credit points)

Each subject is valued at three credit points unless otherwise indicated.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for admission to this course, applicants must have the following:

  • A completed Australian bachelor's degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent, with more than 75 per cent of all subjects completed at pass level (conceded pass not included).
  • A minimum of six years of full-time or equivalent part-time relevant post-degree professional experience.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a compulsory interview, which can be conducted via teleconference. The interview will last approximately 30 minutes.

Supporting documentation to be submitted with the application

For applicants who need to demonstrate work experience:

  • Curriculum vitae and Statement of Service in one of the following formats:
    • A 'Statement of Service' provided by the employer.
    • A completed 'UTS Statement of Service’ signed by the employer.
    • A statutory declaration confirming work experience (for Australian residents only).
    • An official letter from the applicant’s accountant or solicitor on their company letterhead confirming the applicant’s work experience or engagement with the business, duration of operations and the nature of the business.
    • A business certificate of registration in original language and English (e.g. provision of ASIC documentation or ABN or similar documentation for Australian businesses).

English language requirements

The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is one of the following:

  • IELTS Academic: 7.0 overall with a writing score of 6.5
  • TOEFL iBT: 94-101 overall with a writing score of 24
  • PTE: 65-72 overall with a writing score 58
  • C1A/C2P: 185-190 with a writing score 176

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of prior learning is considered on a case-by-case basis for three credit point subjects up to a maximum of 36 credit points. No Recognition of Prior Learning is given for six credit point or 12 credit point subjects.

Indicative first-year tuition fee in 2025: $45,850 (domestic full-fee paying place)

Indicative total tuition fee in 2025: $69,807 (domestic full-fee paying place)

  • Any applicable payment processing fees (e.g., credit card surcharges).
