Strengthen your nursing education practice through evidence-based teaching, workplace learning and clinical simulation, preparing for leadership roles that support professional learning and competent clinical practice.
Course overview
The Master of Nursing (Clinical Teaching) is designed for registered nurses who want to strengthen their role as clinical teachers, educators or facilitators. The specialisation examines educational theory, evidence-based teaching interventions and approaches to assessing competence in professional practice environments.
You will learn to identify learner needs, plan and evaluate teaching strategies and translate educational frameworks into workplace learning. Study also addresses cultural and social diversity, evidence-based health care and simulation-based clinical practice, supporting the development of teaching expertise alongside advanced nursing knowledge.
Depending on your qualifications and recent nursing experience, you will complete 80 or 120 credit points. The longer pathway adds perspectives on nursing and health care policy, while electives allow further breadth. Applied Clinical Practice using Simulation includes compulsory clinical simulation workshops at Campbelltown. Graduates may pursue roles such as clinical nurse educator, nurse educator, clinical nurse specialist or undergraduate placement facilitator.

Commonwealth Supported Places
The Australian Government allocates a certain number of CSPs to the universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.
If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you'll only need to pay a portion of your tuition fees. This is known as the student contribution amount – the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.
Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate courses.
Your student contribution amount is:
- Calculated per the course you're enrolled in.
- Dependent on the study areas they relate to.
- Reviewed and adjusted each year.
HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.
