- Delivery: Online
- Study Level: Postgraduate
- Duration: 18 months
- Course Type: Master's
Strengthen your knowledge of tuberculosis screening, clinical care and public health management, with advanced nursing study focused on supporting individuals and communities affected by tuberculosis.
Course overview
The Master of Nursing (Tuberculosis Management) is designed for registered nurses seeking the specialist theoretical knowledge and critical thinking skills required for advanced practice in tuberculosis care. It examines both the clinical management of tuberculosis and the broader public health approaches used to reduce transmission and support affected communities.
Your studies explore tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment, screening and immunisation, case management, contact investigation and strategies for preventing drug-resistant tuberculosis. You will also examine evidence-based health care and the principles and application of primary health care, strengthening your understanding of tuberculosis management across individual, community and population contexts.
A compulsory capstone subject enables you to apply advanced nursing concepts through a project connected to a self-selected professional topic. Depending on your qualifications and recent nursing experience, you will complete either 80 or 120 credit points. The longer pathway adds study in clinical leadership and collaborative inquiry, together with two elective subjects.
CSP Subsidised Fees Available
This program has a limited quota of Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP). The indicative CSP price is calculated based on first year fees for EFT. The actual fee may vary if there are choices in electives or majors.

Commonwealth Supported Places
The Australian Government allocates a certain number of CSPs to the universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.
If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you'll only need to pay a portion of your tuition fees. This is known as the student contribution amount – the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.
Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate courses.
Your student contribution amount is:
- Calculated per the course you're enrolled in.
- Dependent on the study areas they relate to.
- Reviewed and adjusted each year.
HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.
