Course overview
Delivering projects successfully requires a structured approach to objectives, resources, schedules and people. Curtin’s Graduate Certificate in Project Management introduces the fundamental processes used to plan, organise and control projects across a range of organisational and industry settings.
You will examine project management principles and the characteristics of the project life cycle. Key areas include cost estimation, budgeting and control as well as programming, scheduling, resource constraints, performance monitoring, analysis and reporting.
Your studies also explore how organisational structures and human behaviour affect project outcomes, including motivation, leadership, group processes, conflict and work design.
Delivered at Curtin Perth through evening classes, the course can be completed in six months of full-time study or the part-time equivalent. The qualification can also provide a pathway to Curtin’s Graduate Diploma in Project Management and subsequently the Master of Science (Project Management). Graduates can apply their project management capabilities across industries such as commerce, construction, education, engineering, health, information technology, marketing, mining and research and development.

What you will study

Academic requirements
To be eligible for this course, you must meet one of the following requirements:
- Hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years' management experience.
English language requirements
Curtin requires applicants to demonstrate English language proficiency. You can meet this requirement by providing evidence of one of the following:
- An IELTS Academic overall band score of 6.5, with a minimum score of 6.0 in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
- An alternative English language test accepted by Curtin, provided you achieve the required equivalent scores.
- An eligible previous qualification or another form of English language evidence accepted by Curtin.
