Course overview

Changing workforce expectations require HR professionals who can connect people-focused practices with organisational priorities. The Master of Human Resource Management at UNSW is designed for professionals seeking to strengthen their strategic HR capability or move into specialised people and culture roles.

You will examine contemporary HR policy, workforce strategy, people management and employment law while developing capabilities in evidence-based decision-making, responsible practice and organisational change. The program considers how HR professionals can support performance, employee experience and sustainable workplace culture.

A flexible elective structure allows students to follow a general HR pathway or develop deeper expertise in Human Resource Analytics, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, or Leadership and Organisational Development. Further options address talent, employee wellbeing, sustainability, reward, change and consulting, enabling students to align their learning with different professional priorities.

Delivered entirely online over two years of part-time study, the program is accredited by the Australian HR Institute (AHRI). It may support progression across HR advisory, people and culture, employee experience, organisational development, workforce analytics and employment relations roles.

"I was able to draw on my work experience and apply real–life examples to strengthen my understanding, which helped me generate practical ideas and proposals for future initiatives."
