Course overview

The Master of Applied Business Analytics prepares professionals to use data and analytical methods to address complex business challenges. It combines technical capability with the commercial judgement needed to turn analytical findings into clear, practical recommendations.

Core study covers data analytics foundations, business decision-making, visualisation, responsible artificial intelligence, data platforms, programming, predictive modelling and machine learning. Students also complete two approved stream subjects, allowing them to align part of the degree with their professional interests.

A double-weighted capstone brings the different areas of learning together through an applied analytics project. Students use analytical methods to investigate a business problem, evaluate evidence and communicate findings to relevant decision-makers.

The degree is completed online over approximately two years and is designed to fit around professional commitments. Optional on-campus tutorials are available, although students selecting certain flexible electives may need to attend the Carlton campus.
