The MBS Online MBA equips experienced professionals with advanced knowledge across leadership, strategy and the principal functions of business. It is designed for people seeking to broaden their commercial perspective, improve their decision-making and prepare for more senior responsibilities.

The curriculum spans areas including finance, marketing, analytics, operations, strategy, leadership and organisational management. Students complete 218.75 credit points through 19 learning components, including three half subjects, equivalent to 17.5 standard subjects.

The degree is completed online, with students generally focusing on one equivalent subject during each study period. Six annual intakes and a three-year course structure enable students to progress through the MBA while remaining in employment.

What you will study

While undertaking this Online MBA program, you will complete 17.5 subjects, totalling 218.75 credit points, over three years. Entry requirements

To apply for the Melbourne Business School Online MBA, applicants must have the following:

  • A university degree and two years of work experience OR six years of work experience.
  • Two confidential professional referees.
  • Four personal statements relating to your goals and how you can contribute to the program.

OR

  • Successfully completed the Graduate Certificate pathway (assuming initial enrolment was for the MBA and professional referees and personal statements have been previously provided).

English language requirements

All applicants to the University of Melbourne must satisfy the English language requirements. This may be achieved in a number of ways, including a recognised previous study taught and assessed entirely in English or an approved English language test. If you need to undertake an English language test, you must meet one of the scores below:

  • IELTS Academic: overall score of 7.0, with no band below 6.5
  • TOEFL iBT: overall score of 91, with writing 23, speaking 22, reading 19 and listening 19
  • PTE Academic: overall score of 72, with writing 65, speaking 66, reading 64 and listening 64
  • Cambridge C1 Advanced: overall score of 178, with writing 180, speaking 187, reading 168 and listening 168
  • LanguageCert Academic: overall score of 73, with writing 71, speaking 76, reading 65 and listening 62
  • Michigan English Test: overall score of 62, with writing 64, speaking 53, reading 59 and listening 59
