What you will study

To graduate from the Executive Graduate Certificate in Business Administration course, you must successfully complete 48 credit points:

Core units (six credit points each):

  • Strategic Management
  • Communicating to Influence
  • Systems Thinking for Managers
  • Problem Framing for Creative Action
  • Personal Leadership and Change

Select three units from the following options (six credit points each):

  • Data Analysis and Decision Making
  • Accounting for Decision Making
  • Marketing Strategically
  • Understanding and Leading Others
  • Economics in Business

Entry requirements

To be eligible for admission to the course, you must have:

  • A recognised bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.50 (on QUT's 7-point scale).
  • A minimum of five years full-time post-degree work experience with a minimum of three years of relevant professional work experience and a minimum of two years of supervisory/management experience.

OR

  • A minimum of nine years full-time work experience with a minimum of six years of relevant professional work experience and a minimum of three years of supervisory/management experience.

If you have relevant work experience, you can submit a current curriculum vitae that outlines your roles, responsibilities and achievements. This allows the university to assess your work experience. I believe that relevant work experience shows your capacity to contribute to workshop discussions and the wider student body.

Applicants are required to submit responses to the following mandatory reflective questions:

  • Motivation to complete the QUT MBA.
  • Intended contribution to the cohort.
  • Work/life/study balance strategy.
  • Current leadership philosophy.

You may also need to attend an interview with the MBA director or nominee.

Estimated first-year tuition fee in 2026: $16,000 (domestic full-fee paying place).
