Course overview
Aspiring leaders in human resource management require a strong understanding of the factors that influence thoughts, emotions, motivation and behaviour in the workplace, particularly during periods of change. This program develops the capabilities needed to manage change effectively, with a focus on self-awareness, understanding others' organisational contexts, cultural perspectives and ethical leadership in times of disruption.
The program also examines the methods and technologies organisations use to investigate business challenges and generate insights that inform effective strategy. Through applied engagement with key theories and business research tools, participants build skills in collecting and analysing data related to both the external business environment and internal organisational processes. These capabilities support value creation through innovation, product development and process improvement.
In addition, the program explores employment relations from both theoretical and practical perspectives, with a focus on the relationship between employers and employees. Study areas include labour-management relations, industrial relations institutions, labour markets and the legislative, economic, political, social and cultural contexts of work. Emphasis is also placed on socially responsible employment practices, work design and the examination of inequality within contemporary work structures.
