Course overview
In this course, you will form a theoretical and practical foundation of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
As a QUT graduate, you will be positioned to succeed in a real workplace context, harnessing your theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as your initiative and skills to see projects through to their successful completion. You will graduate with a firm theoretical and practical knowledge base to draw from and will be ready to deal with a diversity of project management challenges.

What will you study
Students must complete a total of four core standard units. Each unit carries 12 credit points.

- Project Management Principles
- Managing Projects as an Integrated System
- Project Procurement
Entry requirements
You can gain entry into the Graduate Certificate in Project Management with one of the following:
Six-month program
- A recognised bachelor's degree (or higher qualification) in any discipline.
- A recognised Diploma (or higher qualification) in any discipline, with at least two years full-time (or equivalent) relevant professional work experience.
- At least five years full-time (or equivalent) relevant professional work experience.
Recognition of Prior Learning
If you hold a Graduate Certificate in Project Management or possess equivalent work experience, you may be eligible to enrol in the Master’s program with recognition of prior learning (RPL), enabling you to complete the degree in 1 year instead of 1.5 years.
