Course overview

User Interface Design is a mindset and developmental process focused on creating user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing digital interfaces. Using a human-centred approach, UI designers prioritise “designing things right” by intentionally incorporating elements such as colour, typography, user flows, atomic design, accessibility and heuristics into their solutions.

In this course, students will gain practical UI skills and knowledge in real-world contexts. Students will learn about design thinking and human-centred design principles and apply them to a digital project. Throughout the course, students will work with industry-standard tools such as Figma to craft exceptional user interfaces that meet user expectations. Additionally, students will design developer-ready interfaces and use usability testing to refine and improve their UI designs.
