What you will study
To qualify for the award of Master of Business Administration, students must choose one of three course streams:
- The Business stream consists of 12 units, including eight core units and four elective units.
- The Project Management stream consists of 12 units, including nine core units and three Project Management elective units.
- The Cybersecurity Management stream consists of 12 units, including eight core units and four Cybersecurity Management units.

Entry requirements
Academic requirements
To gain entry into this course, applicants must have at least one of the following:
- A recognised bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- A recognised bachelor’s degree in any discipline plus a minimum of two years of equivalent full-time relevant experience.
- A recognised graduate certificate in a related discipline.*
*Related graduate certificates include Swinburne Online’s Graduate Certificate of Business Administration, Graduate Certificate of Project Management, Graduate Certificate of Cybersecurity and Graduate Certificate of Management. You may be exempt from some units if you have already completed them in your graduate certificate.
English language requirements
All Swinburne students must be able to meet the English language requirements. You’ll be able to provide evidence of your English language skill if you have one of the following:
- Completed the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or another type of secondary qualification taught in English.
- Completed some types of university or vocational education studies (tertiary studies).
- Completed an English language test, such as TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson or C1.
- Completed an English language (ELICOS) course.
- Lived and worked in an English-speaking country for at least four years (domestic applicants only).
These requirements vary for prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students, depending on your chosen course.

Fees and FEE-HELP

This is based on completing eight 12.5 credit point units in one calendar year. Course fees will be affected by a student’s unit selection and any credit awarded in recognition of previous academic experience.
A student’s annual fee may vary in accordance with:
- The number of units studied per term.
- The choice of major or specialisation.
- Choice of units.
- Credit from previous study or work experience.
- Eligibility for government-funded loans.
