Course overview
The University of Technology Sydney's Graduate Certificate in Social Impact and Not-for-Profit Management introduces the challenges and responsibilities of organisations working towards social and community outcomes. Designed for professionals interested in the not-for-profit and social enterprise sectors, the course builds an understanding of how purpose-driven organisations balance their missions with effective management and sustainable operations.
You'll explore how advocacy contributes to social change and how organisations connect business decisions with social impact. Study of fundraising and revenue generation examines approaches to resourcing activities, while social impact measurement considers how organisations assess their work and communicate outcomes. Together, these themes provide a foundation for evaluating organisational approaches and decisions in complex social settings.
The course comprises four compulsory subjects totalling 24 credit points, with no electives or compulsory placement. Studied part time over one year at UTS's City campus, it may be relevant to professionals working in community organisations, philanthropy, fundraising, advocacy and social enterprise. The qualification also sits within UTS's postgraduate social impact study offerings, with progression to further qualifications subject to the relevant admission requirements.
