This programme is aimed at providing students with the following:

Specialism
Aside from the general Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (Hons) degree programme, there are three types of specialisms available:
- Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (Hons) with a specialism in Forensic Accounting
- Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (Hons) with a specialism in Forex and Investments
- Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (Hons) with a specialism in Accounting Technology
APU-DMU Dual Degree Programme
Students can enrol in the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme as part of this programme. This scheme enables students to receive two degree certificates and transcripts upon programme completion: one from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia and the other from De Montfort University (DMU), UK.
Paper exemptions
Upon completing this programme, students are eligible for exemptions in the professional accounting bodies below.
- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
- Nine papers exemptions out of 13 papers
- Under the APU ACCA Accelerate Scheme, students can complete the remaining four ACCA papers simultaneously with their degree programme.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Australia
- Six papers exemptions out of 12 papers
- Under the CPA Australia Fast Track Scheme, students can complete the Ethics and Governance module at the professional level simultaneously with their degree programme and complete the remaining five CPA papers after completing their degree programme.
- MICPA Professional Stage Examination
- Students are granted exemptions in the following papers: Business and Company Law, Business Strategy and Financial Management, and Financial Reporting
- Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
- Eight papers exemptions out of 15 papers
- Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia
- Five papers exemptions out of eight papers
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
- Eight papers exemptions out of 12 papers

Course Structure
The programme consists of 31 core subjects, four specialised subjects, an accounting and finance research project and a 16-week internship (Industrial Training). Students also need to complete general studies subjects as stipulated by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) and fulfil credit requirements for co-curricular activities.

Entry Requirements
Academic Qualification
To meet the entry requirements for the course, you need to fulfil one of the requirements below:
- STPM - Two passes with a minimum grade of C+ (GP 2.33).
- A-Level - Two passes with a minimum grade of A to D in any two subjects.
- UEC - Five grade B’s in UEC including mathematics.
- Matriculation or Foundation - Passed with a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
- Diploma in Accounting - For entry to the second year, you should have passed the diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
- Any qualifications accepted by APU as equivalent to the above.
English requirements
- Malaysian students:
- MUET Band 2
- International students:
- IELTS: 5.5; OR
- TOEFL IBT: 46; OR
- Pearson (PTE): 51; OR
- MUET: Band 4
Note: Students must have a credit in mathematics at SPM, O-Level, IGCSE or equivalent.
