UCSI University has expanded its academic offerings and grown remarkably since it was first established as a computer training institute in 1986. The institution was granted full-fledged university status by the Ministry of Higher Education in 2008 and became one of Malaysia’s first private universities.

Enrolment process
The university has an online registration platform. Please follow the application steps below:
- Hover your mouse over the ADMISSIONS tab on the university website’s navigation bar.
- Select "Malaysian Students" or "International Students" in the dropdown menu based on your nationality. Depending on your selection, this will lead you to either the “Malaysian Students” or “International Students” admission overview page.

Admission guide for Malaysian students
- On the “Malaysian Students” admission overview page, click on the “Admission Procedure” section.
- On the online registration form, fill in your details and select your course and campus.
- You will be asked to submit digital copies of your identity card, a passport-size photo, academic qualifications, academic transcripts and other relevant documents.
- Postgraduate programme applicants will need to include their curriculum vitae (CV) and application essay.
- Before submitting the form, arrange payment for the registration and tuition fees. You can pay online, by cheque, or in person. For payment instructions, click the “Tuition Fees” tab on the “Admission Procedure” page. Then check out the “Payment Mode” section.
- The letter of acceptance will be issued and sent to students within two weeks of the application processing date.
Admission guide for international students
- On the “International Students” admission overview page, click on the “Admission Procedure” section.
- On the online registration form, fill in your details and select your course and campus.
- You will be requested to submit digital copies of your passport, a passport-size photo, academic qualifications, academic transcripts and other relevant documents.
- International students will have to submit copies of their completed health declaration form, medical report form and accommodation application form.
- Please arrange payment for the application fee and tuition fees. For payment instructions, click the “Tuition Fees” tab on the “Admission Procedure” page. Then check out the “Payment Mode” section.
- Upon receiving your application and payment, UCSI University will email you a scanned copy of the conditional letter of offer (CLO). Then, the university will proceed to apply for your visa approval letter. This process will take approximately eight to ten weeks.
UCSI University scholarships and financial aid
Local and international students who seek financial support may be eligible for scholarships offered by UCSI University. You can also opt for a low-interest Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) loan.
There are other funding options available too. Students can withdraw funds from their Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Account 2 to finance their studies. Alternatively, you can consider a bank loan.
University scholarships for local students
Tan Sri Ahmad Razali Merit Scholarship Award
You are eligible for this scholarship if you are a Malaysian student with excellent academic results and a record of active participation in extra-curricular activities and community service.
The university will invite shortlisted candidates to attend an interview. To be eligible for this scholarship, you will have to meet the following academic requirements:
- A-Level: Four As in subjects that are relevant to the student’s chosen university course
- STPM/diploma/foundation: CGPA of 4.00
- UEC: At least eight A1s in subjects that are relevant to the student’s chosen university course, including English

The scholarship is offered to new Malaysian students studying in pre-university courses such as the Foundation in Business or the Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT).
Applicants must achieve at least five As in SPM or three As in the IGCSE O-Level examination. Only a grade A for subjects relevant to a student’s chosen university course will be considered. Scholarship amounts by foundation course are listed in the table below.

UCSI University Trust Sports Bursary and UCSI College Sports Bursary
Malaysian state or national athletes enrolled in foundation, diploma or degree programmes should apply for this bursary.
Successful state athlete applicants will be granted a partial tuition fee waiver, while national athletes may receive up to a full tuition fee waiver during their undergraduate studies at UCSI University or UCSI College. To be eligible for the bursary, applicants must be verified as state or national athletes by the National Sports Council of Malaysia and their respective sports associations.
UCSI University Trust Graduate Scholarship (programmes by coursework or mixed mode)
Malaysian students enrolled in a UCSI University master's degree or PhD by coursework or mixed mode can apply for the scholarship. Successful applicants will receive a complete or partial tuition fee waiver for postgraduate studies.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you will have to fulfil the criteria below:
- Students who are applying for a master’s degree scholarship must have a bachelor’s degree (with at least an upper second class honours and a minimum CGPA 3.30)
- Candidates who are applying for a PhD scholarship must have a master’s degree or an equivalent qualification
This application is open to students who have enrolled in full-time postgraduate studies at UCSI University.
UCSI University Trust Graduate Scholarship (programmes by research)
The scholarship is awarded to eligible Malaysian students enrolled in a UCSI University master's degree or PhD by research. Successful applicants will receive a complete or partial tuition fee waiver for their postgraduate studies.
Selected candidates may also receive a monthly stipend for a specified duration, depending on the availability of funding and approval from the selection committee.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you will have to fulfil the criteria below:
- Students who are applying for a master’s degree scholarship must have a bachelor’s degree (with at least an upper second class honours and a minimum CGPA 3.30)
- Candidates who are applying for a PhD scholarship must have a master’s degree or an equivalent qualification
This application is open to students enrolled in full-time postgraduate studies at UCSI University. The applicant’s research project proposal must be a part of UCSI’s project under the supervision of the respective faculty.
UCSI University Trust Education Grant 2024 and UCSI College Education Grant 2024
Malaysian students who enrol in 2024 for UCSI University foundation courses, diplomas and degrees are eligible for this grant.
- Candidates must have excellent academic achievements and actively participate in extra-curricular activities. Successful applicants will receive a partial waiver of tuition fees. The waiver is applicable for the first year of your foundation, diploma or degree programme
- To continue receiving the education grant, recipients must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.00 for every semester. Failure to do so will result in the revocation of the grant
UCSI University Trust financial assistance
This programme offers financial aid to Malaysian students from rural areas, families in the B40 group and single-parent families with low household incomes. Individuals with disabilities (OKU) and those facing similar financial challenges are also welcome to apply.
Applicants will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
