Course Overview
This programme is designed to equip students with the following skills and knowledge:
- Comprehending the context, nature, role and significance of management activities undertaken by managers in various organisations.
- Developing integrated solutions for complex problems in dynamic business contexts via thorough research and logical approach.
- Receiving relevant exposure to modern business management and learning how these areas work together to produce competitive organisations.
- Learning diverse employment skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, interpretive skills, and effective written and oral communication.
- Able to use IT and business applications, as well as conduct research into business management issues.
Specialism
Aside from the general Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Management degree programme, there are two types of specialisms available:
- Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Management with a specialism in E-Business
- Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Management with a specialism in Digital Leadership
APU-DMU Dual Degree Programme
Students can enrol in the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme as part of this programme. This scheme enables students to receive two degree certificates and transcripts upon programme completion: one from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia and the other from De Montfort University (DMU), UK.
Chartered Management Institute (CMI Accreditation)
Students who are enrolled in this APU programme have the opportunity to register for the APU-CMI Dual Accreditation. This means they can also opt-in for a CMI L5 Certificate in Management and Leadership. The certificate will be awarded to the students subject to moderation by CMI.

Upon completing this programme, students are eligible for exemptions in the professional bodies below.
- The Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAISCA)
- Ten papers exemptions out of 16 papers
- Malaysian Association of Company Secretaries (MACS)
- Ten papers exemptions out of 16 papers
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
- Four papers exemptions out of 16 papers

Course Structure
The programme comprises 19 core subjects, 12 specialised subjects including a business management project, three electives and a 16-week internship (Industrial Training). Students must also complete general studies subjects stipulated by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) and fulfil credit requirements for co-curricular activities.

Entry Requirements
Academic Qualification
To meet the entry requirements for the course, you need to fulfil one of the requirements below:
- STPM - Two passes with a minimum grade of C (GP 2.00).
- A-Level - Two passes with a minimum grade of A to D in any two subjects.
- UEC - Five grade B’s in UEC with a pass in English and mathematics.
- Matriculation or Foundation - Passed with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.
- Diploma - For entry to the second year, you should have:
- Successfully completed an APU Diploma; OR
- Successfully completed studies in another recognised institute with academic credits equivalent to Level 1 of an honours degree, subject to the approval of the APU Academic Board.
- Any qualifications accepted by APU as equivalent to the above.
English requirements for international students:
- IELTS: 5.5; OR
- TOEFL IBT: 46; OR
- Pearson (PTE): 51; OR
- MUET: Band 4
Note:
- Students must have a pass in English and mathematics at SPM, O-Level, IGCSE or equivalent.
- The requirement to pass English and mathematics subjects at STPM, A-Level and UEC can be waived should you have qualifications that contain English and mathematics subjects with equivalent or higher achievement.
