Course Overview
The Master of Finance specalising in FinTech is intended for finance professionals looking to widen their skill base or students who have made a professional commitment to pursue a career in the financial service industry. The programme is a stepping stone to one of the most sought-after careers in the finance sectors broadly defined as corporate finance, security analysis, portfolio management, financial technology, and the functioning of financial institutions and markets.
APU-DMU Dual Degree Programme
Students studying this programme will have the option to opt-in for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will receive two Degree Certificates and Transcripts upon graduation: one from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia and one from De Montfort University (DMU), UK.
This programme is specifically designed to provide:
- Solid in-depth knowledge in the theory and practice of decision making needed to face the challenges in the FinTech industry.

Course Structure
The programme comprises of one pre-requisite module (for non-Computing students), ten coursework modules and a Project. The modules are designed to provide a solid understanding of financial principles and technology applications of those understanding to various aspects of the finance industry. The students are able to act autonomously in planning and implementing financial strategies.

Entry Requirements
Academic Qualification
To meet the entry requirements for the course you need to fulfil one the requirements below:
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum CGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00, or its equivalent qualification as acceptable by the Senate.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with CGPA below 2.75 out of 4.00 but above 2.50; or its equivalent qualification can be accepted, subject to a minimum of 5 years’ working experience in relevant field.
- Relevant professional accounting qualifications equivalent to a bachelor’s degree as accepted by the Senate.
(Applicants with Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Software Engineering, Banking & Finance, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Mathematics and Statistics maybe considered for entry to the Master of Finance programme.)

English Language Requirement
- IELTS : 6.5
Students from English speaking countries and those with qualifications taught in English (previous Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree taught in English) are exempted from English requirements. Applications for exemption must be accompanied by supporting documents.
