Course Overview

This programme is for those interested in a career in accounting and finance and becoming a qualified accountant. Dual Award Programme

Students under this programme will have the choice to opt-in for Dual Award. Under this scheme, students will receive two awards: one from SEGi University, Malaysia and one from the University of Central Lancashire, UK.

Paper Exemptions

Graduates of this degree will be given exemptions for:

  • Six papers from CPA Australia.
  • Nine papers from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Course Structure

This programme comprises 28 core subjects, two electives and four general subjects (MPU)*.

*All diploma and degree programmes require students to take four general subjects (Mata Pelajaran Umum), as required by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia.

Entry Requirements

Academic Qualification

To meet the entry requirements for the course, you need to fulfil one of the requirements below:

  • STPM with a minimum Grade C+ (CGPA 2.33) in any two subjects, and credit in Mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level.
  • STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid (good), and credit in Mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level.
  • Diploma in accounting or related field, or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, and credit in Mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level.
  • Matriculation/Foundation qualification or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, and credit in Mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level.
  • A-level full pass in two subjects (grade D).

English Proficiency Requirement:

  • TOEFL score of 550 OR IELTS score of 5.5 OR its equivalent (international students).
  • MUET Band 2 (local students).

The English proficiency requirement is exempted for both local and international students if:

  • The student has an academic qualification from an institution where English is used as a medium of instruction, OR
  • The international student is from a country where English is an official language.
