Course Overview

This programme aims to provide students with:

  • A comprehensive understanding of diverse functional areas of accounting, such as auditing, taxation and corporate reporting.
  • Knowledge of various aspects, including technology, taxation principles, auditing, and cost and management accounting.
  • Technical skills necessary for conducting business activities and managing accounts and financial reports effectively.

Paper exemptions

  • Students are granted maximum exemptions from ICAEW, ACCA and CPA Australia.
  • Two professional papers can be completed through an accelerated programme with ACCA during the internship.

Admission via Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL)

APEL enables local students to use their work experience to qualify for admission. There's also a chance to shorten their study duration and lower costs.

Entry Requirements

Academic Qualification

To meet the entry requirements for the course, you need to fulfil one of the requirements below:

  • STPM - A minimum Grade C+ (GPA 2.33) in any two subjects and credits in mathematics at SPM; OR
  • STAM - A minimum grade of Jayyid (Good) and credits in mathematics at SPM; OR
  • Matriculation or foundation - A minimum CGPA of 2.50 and credits in mathematics at SPM; OR
  • Diploma in accounting or a related field - A minimum CGPA of 2.50; OR
  • Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/ Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)/ Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM):
    • A minimum CGPA of 2.50 in a relevant field subject to the approval of the Senate AND it would be compulsory to attend bridging courses; OR
    • A minimum CGPA of 2.00 AND have at least two years of work experience in a relevant field AND it would be compulsory to attend bridging courses;​ OR
  • BTEC Level 4 and 5 - A pass and with credit in three subjects at SPM level, including mathematics; OR
  • Any other qualifications recognised by the Malaysian government that are equivalent to the above.

English Requirements

  • International Students:
    • A minimum score of 46 for TOEFL; OR
    • A minimum score of 5.5 for IELTS or its equivalent
  • Local Students:
    • Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 2 AND
    • A pass in SPM English

Note: If the applicant has completed mathematics at a higher level and obtained credit or a higher grade, the credit requirement for SPM mathematics may be waived.
