Course Overview
Students will gain insights and an understanding of the legal, business and social environments in which accountancy and finance operate. This programme also enables students to be conversant in the technical languages and practices of the accounting and finance sector in a market economy.
The course curriculum includes measurement and disclosure in financial statements, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation, corporate finance and other key finance topics.
Professional recognition
After gaining their degrees, graduates can receive exemptions when they pursue a professional qualification from these professional bodies:
- The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA): Exemption from all nine ACCA fundamental papers
- Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia: Exemption from six foundation-level papers
- The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA): Exemption from eight CIMA papers

Entry Requirements
Academic Qualification
To apply for this course, you must meet one of the criteria below:
- STPM: 2 Principal Passes (2 C+s) or a CGPA of 2.33.
- UEC: 5 Credits (5 Bs).
- GCE A-Level: 2 Principal Passes (2 Ds).
- Diploma: A diploma in accounting or a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.
- Foundation studies: Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.
In addition to the above mentioned requirement, the student must have obtained a credit in mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
English Language Requirements
An applicant is required to possess a sufficient level of English language proficiency by obtaining one of the following:
- Local student: Band 3 in MUET.
- International student: Band 5.5 in IELTS, a minimum score of 46 (IBT), 8 (Essentials-Online) in TOEFL, Cambridge English (160) or PTE Academic (51).
