Founded in 1969, Taylor’s College is one of Malaysia’s oldest and most successful private institutions. The college was established by a group of educators who made a collective effort to provide the Victorian High School Certificate (VHSC), which became the first pre-university programme available to Malaysian secondary school graduates. It is run by the distinguished Taylor's Education Group, which also owns Taylor’s University, one of the top private universities in Southeast Asia.

In 2018, the institution consolidated its operations and is now located on the same grounds as Taylor's University at Taylor’s Lakeside campus in Subang Jaya. It previously operated from two separate campuses in SS15 Subang Jaya and Sri Hartamas. With its high-quality teaching methods, cutting-edge facilities, and exceptional student experience, the college offers a positive learning experience for students. Since its inception, Taylor’s College has produced more than 70,000 graduates.

Taylor’s College awards and achievements

Over several years, the college has been the proud recipient of multiple awards, all of which have recognised the excellent quality of its pre-university programmes.

From 2012 to 2023, more than 3,800 students in Malaysia have achieved three As and above in the Cambridge A-Level pre-university qualification through Taylor's College. These students have also been recognised for their exceptional performance in Cambridge examinations worldwide with the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards. Under this award, Taylor’s students have received 64 Top in Malaysia awards and 212 Top in World awards.

Aside from that, between 2011 and 2023, the college had over 3,000 students who scored an ATAR of 80 and above in the Australian Matriculation Programme (AUSMAT) and South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) pre-university programmes. Taylor’s has successfully placed more than 5,800 graduates across 200 universities worldwide during this period. The college has also been awarded the SACE International Highest Achiever Award for 10 consecutive years, from 2014 to 2023, in recognition of its commitment to academic excellence.

School of Diploma Studies

Taylor’s School of Diploma Studies is the only school within the college that has undergraduate programmes. The school is dedicated to offering a stimulating academic path that provides a practical and targeted education. The two-year diploma programmes offered equip students with a solid foundation, honing their skills and talents while expanding their horizons to various career prospects.

The diploma programmes prepare students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the job market. By providing industry-relevant training and hands-on experience, the college ensures students can have a smooth passage into the workforce upon completing their diplomas. The programmes also offer various learning options and advanced standing for graduates who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree from notable universities locally and across the globe. With an emphasis on industry work experience, graduates will have significant practical skills in their field of study.

The college also promotes a balanced learning environment with the support of staff and industry partners. The college aims to cultivate intellect, craft and practical wisdom in its students to make them highly employable.

The School of Diploma Studies has two diploma programmes relevant to business studies:

Taylor’s College admission process and entry requirements

Entry requirements

Diploma in Accounting

  • Applicants must have one of the following academic qualifications:
    • A pass in Bahasa Malaysia and history with a minimum of three credits inclusive of mathematics and English in SPM; OR
    • A minimum CGPA of 2.00 in any two subjects in STPM with credit in mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level or equivalent; OR
    • A pass in Bahasa Malaysia and history with a minimum of three credits, including mathematics and English at O-Level; OR
    • A minimum of three, Bs including mathematics and English in UEC; OR
    • One E in any subject at A-Level; OR
    • ATAR of 50 or above in AUSMAT; OR
    • A minimum average of 50 per cent in six subjects in CPU; OR
    • Any other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government
  • English language requirement:
    • Overall Band 4.0 in IELTS; OR
    • iBT 31 in TOEFL; OR
    • A Band 2 in MUET; OR
    • A C8 in UEC; OR
    • Overall score of 4.0 in Taylor’s EET; OR
    • Level 1 (Grade B) or Level 2 (Grade C) in Taylor’s IEN; OR
    • Completed high school (Year 11) with a syllabus that was conducted in English

Diploma in Business

  • Applicants must have one of the following academic qualifications:
    • A pass with a minimum of three credits in SPM; OR
    • A minimum of a grade C with a CGPA of 2.00 in STPM; OR
    • A pass with a minimum of three credits in O-Level; OR
    • A pass with a minimum of three Bs in UEC; OR
    • One E in any subject in A-Level; OR
    • ATAR of 50 or above in AUSMAT; OR
    • A minimum average of 50 per cent in six subjects in CPU; OR
    • Any other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government
  • English language requirement:
    • Overall Band 4.0 in IELTS; OR
    • iBT 31 in TOEFL; OR
    • A Band 2 in MUET; OR
    • A C8 in UEC; OR
    • Overall score of 4.0 in Taylor’s EET; OR

The application process for local students

  • Step 1: Choose your course
    • Explore the various programmes offered by Taylor’s College and make your choice.
    • Ensure you meet the programme's entry requirements and review details such as intake dates, fees and accommodations.
    • You will have to apply before the deadline, which is two weeks prior to the start of the programme's classes. However, it is advisable to submit applications at least one month before classes start to ensure a smooth enrolment, onboarding and orientation process, providing ample time for necessary steps to be taken.
  • Step 2: Application details
    • Before you apply, make sure to have the following documents at hand:
      • One certified true copy of your actual or forecast results
      • One photocopy of both sides of your identity card (NRIC)
      • Any additional supporting documents required for your application, if advised by the college counsellors
    • Head to Taylor's Online Programme Application System (TOPAS) on the college’s website.
    • Create an account and start your application.
    • You will have to pay the application fee and submit a bank-in slip, remittance slip, receipt or any document relating to your payment as proof of payment in your application.
  • Step 3: Post application and registration
    • After submitting your application, the college will review it within 48 hours.
    • Applications with certain circumstances, such as credit transfers and programmes that include assessments and interviews, may require more time for processing.
    • You can expect to receive a notification and a Letter of Offer within TOPAS within two to three working days if there are no issues. If your application is successful, you will receive a full offer, or if more steps are required, a conditional offer will be given.
    • You must accept the offer within 14 days, or your application will be void.
    • Upon accepting the offer, you will be officially enrolled as a student at the college.
    • Before starting classes, there are a few tasks you must complete. First, choose the subjects for your programme. Then, make the initial tuition fee payment for the first semester using one of the available payment options listed on the college website. Finally, attend the orientation to start your academic journey at Taylor's College.

The application process for international students

  • Step 1: Choose your course
    • Explore the various programmes offered by Taylor’s College and make your choice.
    • Ensure you meet the programme's entry requirements and review details such as intake dates, fees and accommodations.
    • To ensure a smooth admission process, it is highly recommended to submit your application no later than eight weeks prior to the start of the program. This will allow ample time for processing and help avoid any potential delays.
  • Step 2: Application details
    • You will need to prepare the following documents, depending on your status for your online application:
      New applications
      • Two original copies of Letter of Acceptance (LOA)
      • Six passport-sized photographs with a white background measuring 3.5cm in width and 4.5cm in height
      • Two copies of all of your passport pages that must be valid at least 15 months from the expected date of entry, including your current visa – Student Pass, Dependant Pass, Social Pass or Special Pass
      • One copy of the exit stamp if you are in the country during your application
      • Three copies of your academic results with English translation
      • A school leaving or graduation certificate, progressing from secondary school
      • A pre-medical screening that must be done in your home country
      • An international certificate for vaccination
      • A yellow fever certificate, if applicable
      • A post-medical screening that has to be done at EMGS panel clinics within seven days upon arrival in Malaysia
      • Note: For students from Iran and Sudan, you will need to contact the college representative to apply for the Letter of Eligibility (LOE) and No Objection Certificate (NOC), respectively.
    • Once you have all the required documents, you can apply on Taylor's Online Programme Application System (TOPAS) on the college’s website.
    • As part of the admission process, you will need to complete a health examination form. The health or medical report you submit must be valid for no more than six months. To complete the form, you must use the standard Health Examination Form approved by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. You need to have your pre-medical screening conducted in your home country and send the report by email to Taylor's Admissions.
    • If you plan to stay in the college-provided accommodation, complete the Taylor's U Residence form, which is available on the website.
    • You will also need to pay the application fee.
  • Step 3: Post application and visa details
    • After submitting your application, the college will review it. Applications with certain circumstances, such as credit transfers and programmes that include assessments and interviews, may require more time for processing.
    • If your application is successful, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) package with a full offer. However, they may send you a conditional offer if they require additional information. 
    • You will need to accept your offer within seven days, or your offer will expire. Once you accept the offer, you will officially become a student of Taylor's College.
    • After that, Taylor's College will apply for your Visa Approval Letter (VAL) with Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) in Malaysia. Obtaining your VAL may take around six to eight weeks to complete.
    • Once Education Malaysia Global Services approves your Visa Approval Letter (VAL), the college will notify you via email and courier the original VAL to your address. If you are from a country requiring a Single Entry Visa, bring the original VAL and your passport to the nearest Malaysia Embassy or Consulate to obtain a single entry permit before entering Malaysia. Failing to do so may result in a fine or being denied entry at the airport.

Application fees

The application fee for Malaysian students is RM650 and approximately USD700 for international students. The fees are non-refundable.


Taylor’s College Intake dates

The 2024 intakes for Taylor’s diploma programmes are in April and August. It is recommended that students apply a month prior to the intake to ensure a seamless registration, onboarding and orientation experience, allowing sufficient time for necessary processes before classes commence.


Scholarships and financial aid

Taylor's College offers a wide array of internal and external scholarships to help students finance their studies in the programme of their choice. If students meet the minimum eligibility and academic criteria, they can apply for one or more scholarships at the time of enrolment. The shortlisted candidates will then be evaluated through assessments and interviews. The college has seven types of internal scholarships available to students.

  • Taylor's College Merit Scholarship
    A merit-based scholarship awarded based on academic achievement. Students will also be assessed through an online psychometric test and interview to qualify for the scholarship.
  • Taylor's College Talent Scholarship
    This scholarship is designed to support students' talents in the arts and on-stage performance. It is open to students who have participated at a national level with musical instruments such as the piano, guitar, or violin, as well as in dance or singing. The assessment process will also include a live performance and an interview.
  • Taylor's College Sports Scholarship
    This scholarship provides a chance for talented athletes to pursue their academic and sports careers simultaneously. It is available for those who have participated at the national level in selected sports competitions. Students will also be assessed through an interview to qualify for the scholarship.
  • Taylor's College Community Scholarship
    This scholarship is designed to assist students facing economic hardships and need support to achieve their future aspirations. To be eligible for the scholarship, the household income of the student must be below RM5,000 per month. Additionally, the number of dependents and any physical disability of the applicant will also be taken into consideration. The scholarship applicants will also need to go through an interview to qualify for the scholarship.
  • Taylor's College ACCA Scholarship
    This is a scholarship available for students who are pursuing the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) certification. To qualify, students must take a minimum of 13 papers in ACCA or 10 papers in ACCA for ACCA FIA graduates. The selection process will involve a written assessment and an interview.
  • Taylor’s College Young Accountant Scholarship
    This unique scholarship opportunity is available for students who wish to pursue a professional certificate in ACCA as quickly as possible. This scholarship is exclusively for students who are enrolled in the ACCA Foundation in Accountancy (ACCA FIA) programme. The assessment process for this scholarship includes a written assessment, an online psychometric test and an interview.

The various external scholarships offered by the college to its students include the Kijang Scholarship by Bank Negara Malaysia, the Petronas Education Sponsorship Programme, the Telekom Malaysia Scholarship Programme Foundation and more. Additionally, the government agency, Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional Malaysia (PTPTN), provides loans to students pursuing diplomas at Taylor's, subject to certain conditions. Depending on the requirements set by PTPTN, students may receive either a full or partial loan for their chosen programme.

The college also offers one more type of financial support to help students finance their education – the Taylor’s Excellence Awards. The Taylor’s Excellence Awards are available to students who have completed their secondary education and have received actual or trial results in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). Depending on the number of As achieved, students will receive a deduction for the programme that they choose to enrol in at the college.
